Peter

The senior leader at Elmfield Church is Peter Oyugi. Peter was born and brought up in Kenya. He became a Christian in Secondary School. "Salvation in Christ is the bwst thing that ever happenend to me," he adds.

Peter studied Engineering at Moi University, Kenya and then worked for several years with the Fellowship of Christian Unions (FOCUS) in Kenya helping university and college students study the Bible and know Christ.

Peter also spent a few years in cross-cultural mission work in the UK serving in St. Luke’s Church, Thurnby, Leicestershire and with the Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship (UCCF) in London.

He is married to Cecilia and they have two daughters.

Peter is passionate about teaching the Bible and making Christ known to all. He also loves helping people discover their gifts in the body of Christ. As a family they love meeting and hosting people from every nation of the world and from all age groups. In Peter’s words, “There is so much richness in the diversities that God has created us to have and enjoy.”

Peter loves following most sport and takes a keen interest in African politics.

He desieres to see Elmfield Church as a place where people love God and are passionate about their faith in Christ.

Bekah

Bekah was our Youth Worker until August 2009. She has now left to train for a career in teaching and we are looking for her replacement.

We are looking for someone who is experienced and enthusiastic to be our Youth Pastor. They will be required to develop a dynamic youth work among 11 to 18 year olds.

They should possess good communication and interpersonal skills, and preferably have accreditation in youth work. Some involvement in children's work will also be required. The salary offered is from £25 -30k depending on experience.

Closing date for replies is 31st October 2009 with a start date of January 2010.

Caleb Yengo

 

We are delighted to welcome Caleb Yengo Tata to our staff team to serve as an intern. He will be doing Youth and Children's work. Caleb is a Camerounian national from the North West region of the country. He holds a BSc Honours degree in Environmental Science from the University of Buea in Cameroun and also an Agroforestry Certificate from the 'Trees for the Future' Agro-Forestry training program in Maryland USA.

Previously Caleb worked as a volunteer with the tourism board as a tour guide, and also with a non-governmental development organisation where he conducted socio-economic and bushmeat surveys since 2008.He later joined CREE (Centre for Rural Empowerment and Environment) where he was responsible for all field work for CREE's Cameroun project.

Caleb grew up in a Christian home and made a personal decision to follow Jesus at the age of 12. Since then he has had a passion to see young people live a holy life and be vibrant for Jesus.

He loves singing and listening to music. and also enjoys bike riding, football and tours.
