Working with Older People

This is a growing area of work in the Elmfield Community and there are many opportunities, monthly and weekly, which welcome and seek to encourage those of mature years.

Lunch Club meets on the second Thursday of the month at elmfield church,. Diners can expect a three course meal, tea or coffee with plenty of time to chat followed by a short Bible related talk. This is a very popular event and anyone wanting to attend will need to book as places are limited.

For booking, details of cost, directions etc please contact the church office number 0208 866 0813.

Meeting Point meets on the fourth Thursday of every month, 12.15 – 2.00pm at elmfield church, Imperial Drive, N Harrow. Soup and sandwiches are served and there is plenty of time to sit and chat in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Lunch is followed by a short Bible talk. At present we are looking at the stories behind some of the great old hymns that people still love to sing. There is a small charge but no need to book – just come along. This is a great event to bring friends and neighbours to.

If you would like any further information please contact Gerry on the church office number 0208 866 0813.

Holiday at Home is an annual event and this year was held from June 18th – 21st. If you want to read about a previous holiday you can do so by clicking here. It is a four-day Christian holiday based in North Harrow – so there is no worry about sleeping in strange beds or packing suitcases as holiday makers return to their own home each evening. The holiday includes – a days outing, a variety of activities including, arts and crafts, interesting speakers, music, possibly some gentle exercise – something we hope to cater to everyone’s taste. There is also plenty of time to relax and enjoy some good company. A cooked lunch is provided every day and plenty of tea and cake at tea time. During each day there is a ‘thought for the day’ – something from the Bible to help, encourage and make us think.

House Groups meet weekly at various times and venues and are there to help people discover more about God from the Bible. If you live in sheltered accommodation or a residential home and would like help in setting up a small group then please phone Nick or Gerry on the church office number 0208 866 0813 – we would love to help.
